Christmas Week

Another busy week on the run-up to Christmas. On Tuesday we had our own Christmas Party with party pieces and lots of delicious food. Quite a few were unable to join us for various reasons ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but Denis was able to join us on Zoom which made our day! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are some pics.

Below are a few of the videos/video clips which Irene took. Thanks Irene.

Baritonedeaf singing Plastic Jesus.

The Twa Grannies singing The Irish Pub

Ann & Ken with their own song “Crazy”

Barbara singing When a Child Is Born

Margaret 007 singing Last Christmas

We had our final gig of the year at Benholm Care Home in Forfar where we enjoyed singing lots of songs for the residents and their friends/relatives. We also had a visit from Santa who gave out presents to all the residents. Sandy danced in his wheel chair accompanied by his baby sister Shona. Both were joined by Maureen. One of the young staff members called Amber was our chief bell ringer. She did a great job. ๐Ÿ™‚ Many thanks to Tracey for organising such a fun afternoon for the residents.

More December Fun

We have had a very busy week which continued with a return visit to Kirrie Day Care Centre in Glebe House. The service users there loved playing their percussion instruments and some managed a few dances!

We had an amazing time in the Overgate Shopping Centre this afternoon where we were joined by 5 year-old Myah who showed off her percussion skills as well as her lovely voice. (See video at the end) Many thanks to all who put money into Rudolph’s bucket. The proceeds will be going to our current charity which is Dundee and Angus Foodbanks.

Carols Around the Wards

We were delighted to be invited to sing some carols in no less than 7 different wards in Ninewells Hospital. We had an amazing time. Our visit to Ward 11 was extra special for us as our Denis joined in with some singing and also the photo at the end. Hazel, a patient in Ward 6, was our star percussionist and loved every second of her major role. What a lovely way to spend a few hours!

We managed to bring a lot of smiles to patients, staff and ourselves.

Merry Christmas to all in Ninewells.

Xmas @ Deirdre Knight

We had a fun time with all the service users and staff at Deirdre Knight Day Care Centre. The dance floor was extremely busy and Bob, who is a great ballroom dancer, managed to learn a bit of the Slosh, thanks to the brilliant staff there who are experts!

Xmas Party Season Begins

We have had not just one, but two Christmas parties to kick off the festive season. The first one was in the Cabin, Monifieth where we had a fun time entertaining at the Dementia Drop In Cafe. We donned our best Christmas jumpers and were thrilled Mrs Claus could be with us. Plenty of coffee and mince pies were on offer.

Our second Christmas party was for the Forfar OAP Association who had a delicious Christmas lunch before we started the entertainment. This party has everything from action songs, to pass the parcel and of course Christmas carols. Additional entertainment was provided by Delma Wilson School of Dancing. The children are so talented and their boy dancer, Cody, is a World Champion in his age category. There is always a raffle at the end with a separate draw for 3 large hampers. Santa was also in attendance to give out sweets and water. Many thanks to Isobel Ross and her helpers for all their hard work in organising such a special Christmas party.
