Welcome to the website for Dee Ukes who started as a Dundee U3A Ukulele Group.
Dee Ukes is for U3A members who would like to play the ukulele and sing along to popular songs from a range of genre. The ukulele is a fun, increasingly popular instrument and the emphasis is on having a good time! If you are unsure about joining, you are welcome to come along and find out more about the ukulele before committing to purchasing one or indeed joining the U3A. The class started on Tuesday 2nd September 2014 and takes place on a weekly basis from 12 noon – 1.45pm @ the Finmill Centre, Fintry, Dundee. I am there from around 11.30am if anyone wishes to ask specific questions or catch up on missing lessons. Currently the class is full, but there is a waiting list if you wish your name to be added. Contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is the U3A?
The University of the Third Age began in France in 1972 and was adopted in the UK about 25 years ago. The term ‘third age’ means’ no longer in full-time employment’ and not a specific, numerical age. U3As are self-help groups of people who come together to share their knowledge, skills and experience in an informal situation.
Dundee U3A currently has over 300 members and offers approximately 30 classes which are run by voluntary Group Leaders. The cost to join Dundee U3A is £13.00 per year which includes membership of your group/s.

Dee Ukes, outwith U3A, are often invited to entertain various groups such as Care Homes, Sheltered Housing Complexes, Gala Days and other interested groups. It’s great fun and a great privilege. 🙂
